News: Hastings Rock Radio will be on DAB Radio’s in Hastings from 2nd May
Over the last year, the committee has been shaping the station's next step, and that work has opened the door to a bigger future for Hastings Rock.
As listening figures grew, it became clear that Hastings Rock had reached an important turning point. The team explored the best way forward and focused on a plan that would keep the station moving, growing, and reaching more local listeners.
That breakthrough came with support from local broadcaster Rashid Mustapha MBE, whose Small Scale DAB platform for Hastings created the chance for Hastings Rock to join local DAB and expand its reach across the town.
With an Ofcom DAB broadcast licence now secured, the station has been preparing for testing and building towards a 2 May 2026 launch. It is a major milestone: more ways to listen, a stronger long-term future, and the same Hastings Rock spirit at the centre of it all.
The next stage will rely on the same community backing that has brought the station this far, from sponsors and advertisers to everyone who listens, shares, and supports the station.

We are moving our streaming service over the next few weeks, you shouldn't notice ANY disruption in service (Most of our listeners are currently using the new new stream), but there are still a few connections using a direct link to our current stream provider, which, at the moment, this is still working, but sometime in the next few weeks we will be turning that one off.... Simply restarting / re-loading your media player will pick up all the right pointers to our new stream, and you won't see any difference.
